Mission:

The mission of the Pemiscot County Special School District is to provide a comprehensive, quality education for all students. The district has a Board-approved Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) guided by the mission statement and based on the district’s fundamental beliefs about teaching and learning.

Personnel:

We have sixty-five certified staff members-forty located on component district campuses and twenty-five located on our central campus. Twenty-eight of our non-certified staff members work on component district campuses while the remaining twenty-one are located on our central campus.

Programs and Services:

We operate the following programs and services for our constituents in Pemiscot County:

Special Education instruction and related services on the campuses of all seven component districts.

Oak View Learning Center for students in the county five to twenty-one years of age with moderate to severe developmental disabilities.

 Itinerant Early Childhood Special Education services for children with developmental disabilities three to five years of age in the county.

Parents As Teachers cooperative program for families with children birth to five years of age in six of the component school districts

Career & Technology School for all high school students in the county

Diagnostic Clinic for assessment of students in all seven component school districts
